I'm a software developer based in Derby, UK.
This is what I'm working on.
After 10+ years in the arts, I was invited to deliver a keynote at PyCon UK 2023 about making digital theatre. My creative work explores the crossover between theatre and tech, staging ambitious stories about digital spaces, online worlds, and new ideas. Recently this has included hybrid online/onstage events, writing for VR, and creating branching interactive experiences in Twine. PyCon gave me a new appreciation of the breadth of software development, and through seeking out opportunities to learn more, I discovered an unexpected love for coding.
Alongside my freelance creative work, I also have extensive experience in events, project coordination, and digital communications. I'm particularly passionate about online accessibility.
I'm currently training with iO Academy, on their 12 week intensive Software Developer Essentials course, after completing their Coding Quick Start short course in 2024.
